Markberg Upcycled
What is upcycling?
Upcycling is a process where leftover materials are used to create new products—without compromising on quality. At Markberg, we apply a zero waste approach in our leather production to ensure that every resource is utilized to its fullest. Our upcycled products are a key part of this process.
In traditional leather production, leftover materials are often discarded, leading to unnecessary waste of valuable resources. But through Markberg’s zero waste leather production, we make use of the entire leather hide—nothing goes to waste.
Upcycling helps complete the zero waste concept by transforming remnants into new Markberg products, contributing to a more responsible and sustainable production.
Upcycling in Our Leather Production
In the production of our leather goods, we make use of the entire leather hide. Even after bags and wallets have been cut, there are still leather scraps left - scraps that shouldn’t go to waste. This is where our upcycled products come to life.
The collection features a wide selection of bags and accessories, all made from handcrafted leather panels. These panels are created exclusively from leftover leather sourced from the rest of Markberg’s own production—ensuring that no material is discarded and every resource is fully utilized.
